The duration of a consultation may vary depending on the psychological consultant and the specific needs of each patient. Generally, a consultation lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour, but it can be shorter or longer depending on the situation and the needs of the patient. It is important to discuss the duration of the sessions when making the appointment and to confirm the duration with the psychological consultant before the start of the consultation

Do you have a Freudian or Jungian approach to psychoanalysis?

This is a very common question, especially among intellectuals with some knowledge of psychology. In reality, these two approaches are not the only methods in psychoanalysis, but have been followed by many other more recent and evolved approaches, such as: The Lacanian approach, The relational object approach, The intersubjective approach, The existential approach, and The cognitive-behavioural approach.   In general, we can answer that I am trained in psychoanalysis and I use an integrative approach that combines elements from different approaches, including the Freudian and Jungian tradition. However, I always adapt to the needs and preferences of each patient to find the best approach for them. Because the important thing is that the therapy is effective and helps the patient to solve his difficulties. Ps: Psychology is based on scientific research and academic studies, and it focuses on the holistic understanding of the human mind and behavior. In contrast, personal development methods focus on personal ideas and beliefs without being backed by scientific research. This is why, at Lyna-Psychology, we offer real psychology and not personal development methods.
